Dr. Nickelsen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Miami University Ohio and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Dentistry.  He continues to advance his general, technical and scientific education in the field of dentistry. 

Dr. Nickelsen was recently appointed as Chairman of the Illinois State Dental Board on the Insurance & Benefits Committee.  Formerly serving as Trustee for the Illinois State Dental Society, he is also the past President of the Fox Valley Dental Society.  Dr. Nickelsen maintains membership with the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Elgin Dental Study Club, and Fox Valley Dental Society.

He has received numerous awards for his leadership in dentistry, including the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence, the Omnicron Kappa Upsilon Research Award and the William J. Greek Memorial Leadership Award, which recognizes a new member of the Illinois State Dental Society who has demonstrated outstanding professional leadership.

Active in continuing his education and professional development, Dr. Nickelsen achieved certification as a Invisalign provider and a Sleep Dentistry provider for sleep apnea dental appliances.  Nickelsen Dental offers a variety of Services for all of your dental needs.
